Johannes Strobl (Switzerland)

comes from Seeboden am Millstätter See in Carinthia (Austria) and received his first piano and organ lessons at the music school Spittal / Drau with Hermann Zeyß. He completed his music studies at the ´Mozarteum´ University of Music and Performing Arts in Salzburg, where he received a teaching and concert diploma in organ as well as the A diploma in Catholic church music with distinction in Heribert Metzger's class. In parallel, he enrolled in the subjects of musicology and Romance studies at the Paris Lodron University in Salzburg. He completed a comprehensive study of early music at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis with Jean-Claude Zehnder (organ), Jörg-Andreas Bötticher (harpsichord), Jesper Christensen (bass) and Rudolf Lutz (improvisation) with diplomas in organ and harpsichord. Courses with Michael Radulescu, Luigi Ferdinando Tagliavini, Harald Vogel, Almut Rössler and James David Christie supplemented his training. In 1998 Johannes Strobl was a prizewinner at the Paul Hofhaimer Competition in Innsbruck, in 2000 at the concours musica antiqua in Bruges with Les Cornets Noirs, an ensemble of two prongs, two violins and basso continuo specializing in early baroque music.

Johannes Strobl komt uit Seeboden am Millstätter See in Karinthië / Oostenrijk en kreeg zijn eerste piano- en orgelles aan de muziekschool Spittal / Drau bij Hermann Zeyß. Hij voltooide zijn muziekstudies aan de ´Mozarteum´ Universiteit voor Muziek en Podiumkunsten in Salzburg, waar hij zowel een docent- en concertdiploma in orgel behaalde als het A-diploma in katholieke kerkmuziek met onderscheiding in de klas van Heribert Metzger. Tegelijkertijd schreef hij zich in voor de vakken musicologie en Romance aan de Lodron Universiteit van Parijs in Salzburg. Hij voltooide een uitgebreide studie oude muziek aan de Schola Cantorum Basiliensis bij Jean-Claude Zehnder (orgel), Jörg-Andreas Bötticher (klavecimbel), Jesper Christensen (bas) en Rudolf Lutz (improvisatie) met diploma's in orgel en klavecimbel. Cursussen met Michael Radulescu, Luigi Ferdinando Tagliavini, Harald Vogel, Almut Rössler en James David Christie vulden zijn opleiding aan.
